On my way.

I was going to school this morning, minding my own business, reading the newspaper, or at least trying to with my basic swedish skills. I happened to look up when the spårvagn stopped at gamlestan torget, and I took notice that everything was dead quiet and every single person surrounding me in the front car of the spårvagn was reading a newspaper, including me.

I got turned off by this and set my paper down. Here in sweden everyone does the same thing, wears the same thing etc etc. Of course I can't complain too much because I too follow the trendy clothes etc etc, and I try to be as swedish as my american side will let me....However this moment just happened to bother me and I couldn't do it anymore.

I hope everytime I notice something here, that it doesn't make me cynical.

Hi there Mrs. Cecrux! Regarding this entry, I cannot agree more that the Swedes tend to do the same things, buy the same things and almost think similarly about the same things. Well I guess, a population of 9 million in 450,000 sq km of land is not really dense enough to create such individuality you are used to see in the U.S. of A! I mean here there is also this jäntelagen mentality and "lagom" mentality wherein you should always NOT try to stand out. And by the way, thanks a heaps for dropping by my blog. I've met a couple of Filipinos here in Götet but I don't know if I've met your husband's family. Cheers!

Hi again, Mrs. Cecrux! Just checked out your photos and surely, those are pinoys you are hanging out with here in Götet! Karaoke is a telling sign of pinoy-hood you know! Hahaha! Unfortunately, I'm afraid I have not met your husband nor any of the pinoys there in your photos. Except probably his father which I recognize in some pinoy events/gatherings I've attended so far. Thanks by the way for linking me. I'll link you in my blog as well, if that's ok. Cheers!

Wow... it sounds like a movie! You know those ones set in the future where there is no individuality anymore.
