The booties are done, and I don't know if you can see, but there are two little clear pink buttons. One on each buckle of the bootie :)

Little this and little that
Thanksgiving was good....and yesterday was Black Friday but I wasn't dumb enough to go shopping. I'm doing it today while the sales are still on. I overslept but thats ok, the stores are open late...Got a lot to do today though so I kinda wasted time sleeping in.
Anywho. I finished the booties to match the Baby Kimono, They knit up fast and this Baby Berry Hat I started last night and I only have to make the 'stem' part quick and i'll be done with that as well......
Time for a shower and off to shop for Christmas!!!

Getting there
I hope this fits my sisters 3 month old baby, Danielle. She is quite smaller than most 3 month olds.
I'm only half way done but it's turning out to be something very quick and easy to make....I might even make matching booties for her.
It is winter and i don't want her little toes to get cold!
My favourite part is the little lace edging :)

Radio goo goo
It's been a WONDERFUL lazy weekend.....I didn't do much.
Well ok I lie....yesterday was spent waking up, cooking a long neck pumpkin, straining it, squashing it, measuring it, putting it in little ziploc baggies and freezing it. It's so I can make my pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving, which is comming soon!!!! The 28th to be exact. Turned out i had enough for 5 pies and I only need to make 2 so I gave the other 3 bags to my neighbor.
After that I did my laundry, went to the grocery store and when I got home I realized that I bought too much food and had almost NO room in the freezer to fit anything else..oops!
Theeenn...I made 2 different kinds of apple pies, cleaned my mess up and knitted for a little while, and before I knew it, it was bedtime!
This morning I woke and cooked the kids a nice breakfast and I came upstairs to blog and the boys were up here doing what else? Playing X-box......Caleb obviously hasn't brushed his hair yet..sheesh! It's still early though.
Well This wonderful cardigan is going to be my next knitting choice to make. I wasn't too thrilled about it comming off the shoulders so I wrote to the designer and actually, they pulled it that way for the photo shoot...yay! It should be like I want it then when it's done.

Getting there
I stayed away for the weekend, went to Penn State and stayed in a house in the middle of nowhere. It was good, cold, and I got a lot of knitting done. This is my Skinny Empire sweater that I have been working hard on, trying to make and keep it perfect. Though god knows I am not a perfect knitter but I want it nice enough to where I can actually wear it in public!
I got a lot further on it than I thought I would...with the other one I made, the boxy sweater, it was knit in pieces and then had to be seamed together....you would think it would go fast? No. It was a nightmare!! Easy but I hate sewing the shoulder seams together...and after I had already given it away, I was told of an easier much better tecnique...sheesh!
Either way this is the fruit of my labourous weekend in the mountains....other than that all I got to do was read my book, relax with Brad and the dog...and do nothing.

And so it begins..
Lately I feel as though I don't have time to write. My schedule is full and more hectic than ever. Though I do realize it wouldn't be so busy if I just laid down the law.

Set my own rules,
and stopped letting my heart rule me.
It's not all about having time to write, but about having time for me. Things need to slow down and thats basically it.
In other news, the knitting scene for me has picked up to a pace that I can barely keep up with. With everyone wanting me to make them something, it gets hard for me to make things for myself as well..I don't know how to say no, yet if I had "ME" time, it'd be very easy to accomplish everything.
I just started a sweater for myself. I finished my first one for a co-worker and she loved it...thank god!!! Now the one I am making for me however is totally different and much easier....so far! I'm working a raglan top down style sweater that is absolutely gorgeous! Lets hope I can make it look just as good as the picture.
I went to the LYS to buy the same yarn the book listed but the color was not in stock so I settled for a gray color, which will go with more of my clothes anyways. I purchased 5 hanks of Lana Grossa Cool Wool 2000 which cost me a whopping $48.65. Quite expensive for a sweater but worth it if it turns out nice. I've been getting some wondeful tips from the lovely ladies at our weekly Stitch n' Bitch meetings on Thursday nights.
I love it!
I got to meet new women, mostly young, get great help and got to give a tip or two myself and get a few hours away every week.
The pattern I am making for the sweater is called Skinny Empire and I found it in a book I bought called Custom Knits, written by Wendy Bernard.

So far it's going perfectly for me. When I actually get to the empire waist section, it could prove to be challenging, but after last nights SnB meeting, I might understand it....This is what it should look like when finished, but in gray.

we'll see what happens!!!
