Blah blah blah......

This little guy here apparently likes the blanket I crocheted!

How stinking cute is he???? Hello in there!

It's raining today...blah
Pauls sleeping like a cute little baby...
I need to study my Swedish...sigh...don't feel like it.
For gods sakes isn't it Monday yet??
Need to take the snore monster out...but I don't wanna get wet.
And this little dog snores LOUD..it's unreal....

I'm just sitting here with my coffee deciding...do I shower then take Tyson out? or just go, then shower?..hmm...considering it's winter I better take him out first...don't wanna get sick...I just wanna go back to bed.

Ninja warriors

It's freaking cold outside!!!!!!!!!!
We were just going out for a walk in the dark, cold, freezing, bitter, finger numbing night. At least the stars were out when we got there.

I knew it would be cold living in Scandinavia, but this cold???
I thought my legs would fall off...it was...uhmmm - 7 celcius or +19 farenheight depending on which part of the world you live in.

Two of the weirdest days!!!

This is going to be a VERY big post so I will keep my words few as possible.
I will start out with yesterday, January 19th.
We awoke finding it to be a beautiful day, and decided to take Tyson out for a walk in the forest.

(Me and Tyson)

(Trees from the ground up)

(King of the forest! )

(Sunlight peeking through the trees)

(My shadow)

(Paul,Tyson & I..thank god for selftimers!)

(Deep in the forest,beautiful!!!)

(Paul and Tyson down below after I climbed a BIG rock. Tysons begging to follow!)

(The view after we got to the top. I wonder how many Moose are in there?)

We were all over the forest, leaving the trail and climbing everywhere. Eventually we had to get back because it would be getting dark soon....and so ends the first day.

Then.....Today, January 20th....Paul awakes and asks me in bed if it seems colder to me inside and I say no....he then says to me, 'I think it snowed'

Eventually we get out of bed to discover this!!!!

We end up going outside because we have a dog and he has to go! I'll admit I had fun !

(Me making a Snögubbe)

(Isn't it so pretty????!!!!)

(Tyson, of course found his fave, pinecones!)

(Paul wayyyyy down below!)

(Me and Ty)

(King of the hill once again!)

Semla

This wonderful thing is called a Semla....its got a light fluffy pastry thats cut in half with some sort of almond cream in the center, just a little bit, then on top of that you can see the whipped cream, lots of it!!!! There is powdered sugar on the very top, its so...light,fluffy, so good! Not too sweet, but I can only eat about half of one of these monsters. The traditional Swedish thing to do is put it in a bowl with warm milk and eat it that way with coffee on the side...I hate milk so I ate it as it was.

yes,we are sitting infront of the same computer now.

Weird Grönsaker (vegetables)

Paul and I went to the store to get some food earlier....first stop was the veggie section and we came across this weird thing...
It looks like one of those animated corckscrew thingys they show in cartoons to drill through like walls and stuff and mountains...we have no idea what it is!
I have more pix from a Tv show but I will have to post it later because theres two parts to it and the other part of the show isn't on till midnight.

We wanted a pic of us with tyson, but he's sitting in the background with a VERY sour look, he's not happy..lol

I took this picture from our local newspaper website..
The heading Stormvarning (Storm warning, obviously)...whats with the crazy arrows? I stood outside a bit ago to walk Mister pea-head Tyson, and I about blew over and his little ears were flapping in the wind ! I can't believe he didn't blow away...good thing he was on a leash.

Might have to click on the pic to make it larger to really see it because I edited the pic to highlight a few things...my favourite was warning for tonight...this started hours ago..lol.....yeah...I'm going to bed now...

New bed....

Well....Finally after saying we were going to buy a new bed, we did it after a week and a half. Sucky thing was, it rained and we got a little wet loading the thing in the car...and this car isn't a regular car, it's a tiny euro car. Needless to say we sat hunched over, my face almost into the steering wheel, all the way from Jysk to home in the soaking rain with a bed hanging out the back.

We used bungee cords to keep it in the car and to keep the back hatch from opening, but that didn't work too well because when we got home, we seen that the hatch was kinda open. I couldn't tell while I was driving and neither could Paul because the bed was too big and in the way to see anything except for what was in front of us. Though he did say a few times..' Oh shit the beds moving, it's moving!'..while he hung onto it from behind his head with one hand as much as he could.

Mind you this is only half the bed...lucky for us we had the other half already in the house.

We got it home in one piece somehow...

Oh and real quickly....I added on to this post down below..yeah I'm an idiot!
Oh and another thing.....This is the bed after we set it up....
We have a retard bed ..but I guess that suits us...a retard bed for 2 retards....
We will buy a bed skirt to hide the hideous legs and also the fact that we have 2 seperate boxsprings. I dunno if you can make it out but we each also have our own blanket too..lol...We have to buy a really big blanket for this montrosity of a bed...but that will come in a few weeks or next month..it's cost us enough as it is...the whole bed takes up almost the entire width of our room..lol

The good thing is that you can't tell it's 2 beds when you lay on it, it feels like one because we shoved foam in the middle under the mattress and then we have one big single mattress to cover the entire thing.

Scandinavian beds are nothing like what we had back home in the states...I was very frustrated with the whole deal of not having a thick mattress and the box spring being the main part of the bed, and what I consider 'normal' sheets I guess you could say. I'll get over it just like I have many things so far. It's all part of me becoming a Swede !
Ok so we got the bed skirt right away...after I made this origional post.

Tyson and I went out for a walk a little while ago and we picked up some pine cones, which he goes crazy over if you say it in Swedish ( kotte )...so I brought two in the house for him to chew on and he put both of them in his mouth at the same time.....laid there and looked at Carolina, Paul and I with this look that just says it all.....and if you look close enough you can see the tip of one of the pine cones in his mouth !

Boreeeeeedddd !!!

I truely have nothing to blog about today except two things.....
#1 the yucky rain outside.....

Where the hell is the snow?

#2 One of my favourite things that I truely cannot get enough of here in Sweden...In english they are called 'apple combs'..OI! they are soooo good with the best apple filling ever. I know it looks like salt on the top but they use sugar stuff instead of icing....Of all the things I will miss when we move back to the states is this...how can anyone resist the flakey crust and gooey apple inside??? This by the way, is the last one. A few hours ago my sweet mother-in-law bought me 3 of them at the store...I ate 2 right away and this one is laying in front of me begging to be eaten with my coffee....

Central & Stuff....

We had to go into Göteborg Centrum today, so I took my camera along and took some shots and whatnot along the way...

Funky row of houses where I live.

More funky houses.....

Tyson earlier when we went for a walk......

Tyson when we left the trail...

Tyson again....such a cutie looking for a place to piss..lol

Houses not far from here with the weirdest fences I ever seen...

Same houses but from a farther view.....

Silly mailman on his go-cart thinga-ma-jigger....

A building in Central......
and as Paul says...'It's older then the country you come from..'..lol

Crazy road system in Central right next to the harbor.....

Another old as dirt building.....

Uhhmm...Office building next to the 'North Sea' which is the body of water that Göteborg
borders.

A walkway going up a very steep hill.

Side street in central.....

Same steep hill as before, but from a farther view.....

Lots of construction.. office building and a pretty big sailboat in the water next to it....

This is a pic of Gustav Adolf''s Torg, the statue is of Gustav himself, the King who founded Göteborg.

This is taken from the other side of the street from Gustav, it's called Hamngatan, which is part of Central and as you can see, water from the North Sea flows through the city, this is only a few minutes walk from the Harbour.
